“Empowering, educating and rewarding Young People through an innovative music and enterprise program”
The Blastbeat UK F
inal showcase will be bringing the very best of the UK’s young musical talent to London’s West End on Sunday 7th July. Artists selected from the Nationwide program will perform alongside chart topping Universal signed Urban artist Angel whose hit single ‘Lights On’ recently reached the Top 10 in the Official Charts with Wiley and Tinchy Stryder. Angel will also be joining an industry panel at the event who will offer their knowledge and advice to the young performers.
The Blastbeat UK final showcase will see 10 of the best-unsigned acts from around the country performing live to a London audience. Finalists include young contenders; Kwamz (19 year old urban/ pop act and Blastbeat ambassador from Leeds), Jermaine Jackman (18 year old from Tottenham whose already played The Royal Festival Hall to a standing ovation) and The Turning, (Band members from London and Northers Ireland are just 16 and 17 years old, soon to feature in a BBC series). The final line up will be announced on Monday 1st July as the regional heats conclude.
The Blastbeat program is an award winning social enterprise program that encourages social entrepreneurship and altruism, influencing young people’s interests and passion around music to teach them life and business skills. The participants are given the tools to create and promote their own music events, engaging with charities and good causes in their community, eventually donating some of their concert profits to support organisations that are local and relevant to them.
