Found in the Camden Stable Market, Cyberdog stands out among the many stalls selling t-shirts, trinkets, rugs and food. Sure, it’s sells clothing, but once you step inside it becomes more of an experience than a shop. Flanked by two enormous, metal cyborgs as you step through the front door, you’ll find yourself in a room illuminated entirely by black lights and laser flashes. What few clothes aren’t luminous in the dark will have spotlights flashed on and off them intermittently, while rave music plays and the staff, when not serving customers or maintaining the shopfront, dance on the counters to the non-stop beats. It’s spread over three floors, all themed similarly, with sculptures dotted around as well as areas in which people can dance if they wish. It’s quite disorientating but after a couple of minutes you get used to the vibe and can begin to browse in earnest amongst the cyberpunk regulars. A shopping experience unique to Stables Market and possibly unique to the whole of London, if you’re walking past you won’t be able to resist taking a quick peek.
