Love a good book, a glass of wine and a girly night in? Then look no further than DFS’ exclusive literary evening. Grab your girlfriends on Thursday 14th November for the chance to mingle with three top British authors.
As part of DFS’ fundraising effort for BBC Children in Need, Viv Groskop, Jenny Colgan and Alex Marwood will be talking about their latest books and participating in a Q&A at DFS’ flagship store on Tottenham Court Road in central London.
On the night, attendees will get the chance to hear about the authors’ inspiration behind their popular work while snuggling down in a DFS sofa with glass of wine and a selection of nibbles.
The event, which is totally free to attend, will take place from 6.45pm until 8pm and includes free wine, soft drinks and snacks. Email firstname.lastname@example.org to reserve your place.
Fans are encouraged to bring a copy of the authors’ books for signing or they will have the opportunity to purchase a copy on the night. What’s more, all who attend will be entered into a prize draw to win one of four New Kindle Paperwhites on the night.
All three authors are set to inspire in different ways. Viv Groskop is a comedian and columnist as well as the author of comic autobiography, I Laughed, I Cried: How One Woman Took on Stand-Up and (Almost) Ruined Her Life, whilst Jenny Colgan is an award-winning author of romantic comedies whose most recent novel, The loveliest Chocolate Shop in Paris was published this year. Alex Marwood is the bestselling author of The Wicked Girls, a sensation in psychological suspense.
On the night Pudsey will be collecting voluntary donations in aid of Children in Need. DFS staff will also be selling limited edition BBC Children in Need cushions on the night – ideal for cuddling up on the sofa on cold winter nights. The authors have agreed to donate their appearance fee to BBC Children in Need.
