The factory women at Cadbury in Birmingham made a phenomenal contribution to the war effort, parcelling gifts (‘Comforts’) of chocolate and knitting for the servicemen abroad, as well as working voluntarily in the local auxiliary hospitals. In this talk Fiona Joseph discusses how and why her research into the Bournville Archives inspired her to write a novel.
