About
Another lively, fun night out at Jump Jive and Shout, the monthly jive night with vinyl dj Jen Jackson spinning pulsating, energy driven 1940’s and 50’s rhythm and blues, jump jive, doo wop, boogie woogie, blues shouters and more. Dynamic sounds that rocked the juke boxes, gin houses and rent parties all over America.
Join us as we celebrate some truly great names in early American roots music: Louis Jordan, Wynonnie Harris, Etta James, Tiny Bradshaw, Ruth Brown, The Chords, Big Joe Turner, Little Richard and a host of others.
Live on the night and making a welcome return to Jump Jive and Shout is the sensational singer/musician Jimmy Hammond a “fab” boogie woogie and rhythm and blues pianist, one of the best there is. Chopping, slicing, and pounding on those 88 keys Jimmy Hammond is an excellent showman who captures the raw, passionate energy of many of the great early American roots musicians.
Always a great night out at Jump Jive and Shout on the second Saturday of the month. Closed for January.
Smart dress, or retro, vintage, glamour, forties, fifties and sixties appreciated.
