Wild night out…at the cinema!
‘Silent’ outdoor cinema at ZSL London Zoo this May
Tuesday 6 May – Saturday 10 May 2014, 7:00pm – 11:00pm
ZSL London Zoo is launching a brand new cinematic experience this May, offering film-lovers the chance to enjoy animal-movie classics in the stunning setting of the Zoo.
ZSL London Zoo’s ‘Silent Cinema’, experience runs for five nights only, kicking off with ‘90s classic Jumanji on Tuesday 6 May and rounding up with childhood-favourite, The Jungle Book, on Saturday 10 May.
Giving a whole new meaning to the term ‘silent picture’, all guests will be wearing headphones to watch the film, making sure the animals still get their beauty sleep.
Mixing the silverbacks with the silver screen, movie-goers will be completely immersed in the sights, sounds and scents of the animal kingdom, exploring one of the Zoo’s incredible exhibits before each screening; including the perfect combo of a visit to Penguin Beach before the epic documentary, March of the Penguins.
As the sun sets over the animal kingdom, guests will have the chance to wolf down a gourmet hot dog from Rocket Dogs, or enjoy Asian-inspired delights from ATE Street Food, before settling down amid the monkeys and birds to enjoy their favourite flick on an outdoor screen.
With only 450 places per night, the limited-edition event is expected to sell-out quickly, tickets cost £22.50 and are available to purchase at www.zsl.org.

Silent Cinema
To ensure the animals don’t have to stay up past their bedtimes if they don’t want to, the outdoor cinema at ZSL London Zoo will be a silent experience, with guests wearing headphones to enjoy the film. Headsets are provided by ZSL London Zoo.
The cinema is a completely outdoor experience, and ZSL London Zoo recommends that guests dress warmly – guests are welcome to bring blankets with them and additional blankets and back-rests will be available to purchase on the night.
