Comprised of Sir John Soane’s personal collection, the Sir John Soane museum is an intriguing London museum due to its unique set of items (all of which were acquired between 1780 and 1837). It was designed by Sir John himself to keep his collection of antiquties and works of art in.
Some of the collections here include:
Works of Art
Concise Catalogue of Drawings
Looking at Architectural Drawings
It’s an intriguing place because unlike many other museums, the items are not laid out by what type of object they are, but where Sir John Soane left them before his death (and the point the museum became publically owned).
Opening hours are Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm. The museum is closed every Sunday, Monday and bank holiday.
