About
The current Somerset House was built in 1775 as an office block, but now it’s used for far more creative purposes. An art exhibition space dominates the house, that shows everything from art collections to fashion designers to avante-garde historical presentations and tours. A restaurant also resides within the house, making the most of the glamourous furnishings and tall ceilings, as well as a cafe if you just fancy a coffee. Outside there is a choreographed fountain in the summer months, as well as film screenings, and an ice rink in winter.
