This movie festival will allow cinema goers to enjoy seven award-winning Thai films that showcase the country’s flourishing film industry and vibrant culture. Each film has been carefully handpicked to show different styles of Thai filmography.
A romance directed by Nitiwat Taratorn. An ex-wrestler finds an ex-teachers diary whilst working at school full of rebellious children. Finding solitude in reading the diary, he starts to form a bond with the girl he has never even met.
A drama directed by M.L. Bhandevanov Devakula. Set in 1936, on the outskirts of Bangkok, a son and daughter of rival village chiefs are caught up in a hidden love affair too dangerous to reveal
A horror directed by Tiwa Moeitthaisong. High-school pranksters become online sensations from their “dare-the-ghost” video clips. Upon visiting a graveyard for their latest video, the boys find a fresh corpse with a gold coin in his mouth. Soon after they are pursued by something they can’t see.
The Story Of Mahajanaka
An animated fantasy adapted from HM King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand’s royal literary works. Directed by Kriengkrai Supornsahusrungsi,Thananchanok Suban Na Ayudhaya and Nop Dharmavanich. An exiled prince, made aware of his royal blood as a young boy, decides nine years later to win back his throne. On his journey he is caught in a terrible storm that causes his ship to be lost at sea, but his perseverance and endurance drive him to swim for 7 days.
Documentary directed by Krissada Tipchaiyametha. This beautifully shot documentary portrays the astonishing love between two grandparents who have been married for 45 years. The wife is sick with kidney disease, can no longer help herself, placing the ultimate strain upon her husband. A powerfully emotional account of love and suffering.
Tom Yum Goong 2
An action film directed by Prachya Pinkaew. When a rich and powerful elephant camp owner\’s death is announced, all the evidence indicates that martial art specialist and elephant handler Kham (Thai action hero Tony Jaa)is behind the killing. A thrilling, edge-of-the-seat action crime movie.
A drama directed by Lee Chatametikool. A troubled 30-something son, has to start life afresh after his father commits suicide from money worries. His relationship with his younger brother deteriorates when he make friends with the troubled girl next door who gets through her life by taking drugs. A gritty, tense drama with an emotional core.
