The Pipeline calls itself the happiest place in London thanks to its owner (self-titled the happiest Swede in London), and once you walk in the door and get a feel for the place, you see why so many people call this bar home.
The pipeline has a few features that make it stand out around the other bars of Liverpool Street, the most obvious of which is its pinball machines. With six at the moment but more added, removed or changed for variety all the time, you’ll be racking up new high scores every time you go in, and even competing in championships held at the bar.
The jukebox in the corner carries an ambition array of music, including some Nordic influences from the owner. Hard rock, reggae, trash, metal, punk and psychobilly give this bar its character, combined with some continental beers at the bar, all-day food menus and pool at the back. Finally, the basement shows live acts from all over the world. This bar packs a punch and with all there is to do and play with, you may begin to agree that it really is the happiest place in London.
